Bodegas Montes Toscanini

Montes Toscanini was born in 1979 as a spin-off of the third generation of the Toscanini family, one of the most traditional in Uruguayan viticulture.
Its origins date back to the end of the 19th century, when the patriarch of the family emigrated from Italy and settled in the department of Canelones, producing his first wine in 1908.
Seven decades later, Margot Toscanini de Montes and her brother acquired the current winery in Las Piedras, giving rise to Montes Toscanini and continuing the family winemaking tradition.
Starting in 1995, Montes Toscanini began to focus on fine and high-end wines, with the aim of offering the world wines capable of being distinguished by their high level of quality and typicity. Since then, the general manager of the winery has been Leonardo Montes Toscanini, who along with other members of the fourth generation of the family, has run the winery to this day.
